How do you do THAT?
Recently I started keeping a To Do List.
I am not actually a fan To Do Lists. Alas, I know I need one. There are just too many things, well, To Do! LOL
And even with this List, and all the best of intentions, I still find some things falling to the bottom.
Typically, these are things that I just cannot seem to prioritize because I don’t really want to do them.
Or they feel a bit daunting and I know that they aren’t REALLY that big of a deal, but my perspective is that they actually are…so I don’t do them.
And sometimes I don’t do them because they require a certain Way of Thinking that I don’t always have access to in my own brain.
Which is why I often exercise my right to “Phone a Friend” and get these things done once and for all.
When we have a long list of items to get through a few things generally happen.
1) They begin to take over our thoughts and carve into our precious down time. So when checking our email and responding to that 1 person that we are putting off would literally take 15 minutes at the max we stick that to-do in the back of our mind so it pesters us for days or weeks.
2) We make them bigger and more arduous of a task in our minds than they are.
3) Because of 1 & 2 one lingering to-do quickly snowballs into a mountain in our minds that we can never summit.
4) We give up and feel hopeless.
Not to fear. I see this all the time, I live it, AND there is a solution for everyone. Assuming you actually want relief (that is an entirely different conversation for another day.)
More times than I can count I have sat down with business owners who have what feels like a giant ball of mess in their heads and we have sorted it out, organized, and clear path forward. Many times, we have the whole ball sorted in under an hour. NO KIDDING!
